Denver weather: Sunny skies over the weekend with winds gusting to about 15 mph

It will be warm and sunny in the metro area on Saturday, with temperatures climbing slightly above seasonal norms and winds calming down a bit.

In Denver the high temperature will top out near 82 degrees on Saturday with winds gusting to about 15 mph, according to the National Weather Service. The overnight low will be around 52 degrees under partly cloudy skies.

There’s a red flag warning for fire danger from noon to 7 p.m. on Saturday for the southern Front Range foothills, South Park and the Palmer Divide area, according to the weather service. Castle Rock, Colorado Springs and Pueblo are under today’s warning.

Temperatures will be slightly above norms over most of northeastern Colorado, with highs in the upper 70s and lower 80s across the urban corridor and on the Eastern Plains. In the mountains temperatures will climb into the mid 50s and upper 60s, the weather service said.

Expect sunny skies over Denver on Sunday with a high temperature of about 77 degrees. Overnight skies will be mostly clear and the low will dip to near 52 degrees.

Dry weather this weekend will give way on Monday afternoon to a couple of thunderstorms on the Eastern Plains, with the pattern repeating on Tuesday.

On Monday in Denver there’s a 20% chance for afternoon showers and thunderstorms, the weather service said. Skies will partly sunny and the high will top out near 84 degrees.
